Born on 27th September 1983 in Sangamner, Maharashtra, Satyajeet comes from a family deeply committed to social service and politics. His grandfather, Bhausaheb Thorat, was a freedom fighter and one of the pioneers of the cooperative movement. His father, Dr. Sudhir Tambe, served three terms in the Legislative Council and his uncle, Balasaheb Thorat, has been a senior state leader for Indian National Congress. Satyajeet pursued Political Science and Management at Pune University and later attended Harvard Kennedy School, gaining global exposure to leadership and governance practices. An avid reader and writer, he has translated Gavin Newsom’s Citizenville into Marathi and authored ‘Andolan’.

Political Journey

Satyajeet Tambe’s political journey began in his early years through the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), where he held positions as Maharashtra Secretary, General Secretary, and later Vice President in the Maharashtra Youth Congress. At the age of 24, he was elected to the Ahmednagar Zilla Parishad, becoming one of its youngest members and serving two terms from 2007 to 2017. During this time, he worked extensively in rural development, water conservation, sanitation, and education. As President of the Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress from 2018 to 2022, he focused on empowering young leaders, ensuring their active participation in local and state elections. In 2023, he contested and won the Maharashtra Legislative Council election from the Nashik Graduate Constituency as an independent candidate, succeeding his father and continuing his family’s legacy of public service with a vision for progressive change.
